The production of oil and gas is assessed at 100% of market value just like coal production. The equipment is industrial and is assessed at 11.5%.
Oil and gas equipment is reported to the Assessor’s Office each year by the producers and they report the purchase value of each piece of equipment. Depreciation tables provided by the state are used to calculate current market value on equipment.
Oil and gas production is also self reported. However, the volume is reported directly to the state by each producer. The state then sets a value and reports that to the Assessor.
