The Campbell County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Tuesday, October 21, 1997. Chairman Desavedo called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Present were Jan Evans, Fred L. Oedekoven, Les Desavedo, Commissioners; Susan F. Saunders, County Clerk; Michael A. Maycock, County Attorney, and Bryn N. Stewart, Director of Administrative Services.

The following consent agenda was presented:

MINUTES - County Commissioners' Meeting, October 7, 1997.

LINE ITEM TRANSFERS:

Commissioners - Transfer $12,500 from 020.7269, Road Management with $10,000 going to 020.7371, Fourth of July, and $2,500 going to 020.7372, Little Levi Rodeo.

Engineering - Transfer $200 from 081.6281, Travel, Auto, to 081.6283, Travel Meals; transfer $450 from 083.6167, ADA Improvements, to 083.6153, Fire Sprinkler Inspection; transfer $5,000 from 083.6167, ADA Improvements, to 083.7272.06, Children’s Develop Building; transfer $6,000 from 083.6167, ADA Improvements, to 083.7273.13, Southern Drive.

Commissioner Evans motioned to approve the consent agenda as presented. Commissioner Oedekoven seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

All Voted - AyeCarried.

Commissioner Oedekoven motioned to ratify the Partial Release of Retainage from the Escrow Account for Hladky Construction for the Campbell County Airport Terminal project in the amount of $34,000 signed by Chairman Desavedo October 8, 1997. Commissioner Evans seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

            All Voted - Aye                                                                      Carried.

Commissioner Evans motioned to approve the Partial Release of Retainage from the Escrow Account for Pete Lein & Sons d.b.a. Dakota Steel & Supply for the Campbell County Airport Terminal Steel project in the amount of $12,393.50. Commissioner Oedekoven seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

            All Voted - Aye                                                                      Carried.

Commissioner Evans motioned to approve up to $13,000 from Commissioners Capital Contingency to place water, sewer and gas lines to existing hangers at the Airport. Commissioner Oedekoven seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

            All Voted - Aye                                                                      Carried.

A Public Hearing was held at 10:00 AM for the purpose of hearing a zoning request for WCW Subdivision. The petition is to zone as I-1, Light Industrial all of Tract A and the new portions of Lots 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, WCW Subdivision that were added to the former Lots 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 Winland Industrial Park during the formation of the WCW Subdivision.

Commissioner Oedekoven motioned to approve Zoning Request Case # 97.11Z for Tract A and the unzoned portions of Lots 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, WCW Subdivision as I-1, Light Industrial. Commissioner Evans seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

            All Voted - Aye                                                                      Carried.

Commissioner Evans motioned to approve up to $48,808.27 from Commissioners Contingency to purchase noxious weed chemicals for the Weed & Pest Department. Commissioner Oedekoven seconded the motion. The Board was polled with Commissioner Oedekoven abstaining.

Commissioner Evans motioned to appoint Robert William Barelman, DDS to serve on the Public Health Board. Commissioner Oedekoven seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

There being no further business to come before the Board of Commissioners the meeting was adjourned at 12:00 PM. The next regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners will be held November 4, 1997 at 9:00 AM in the Commissioners Chambers of the courthouse.
