The Campbell County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Tuesday, October 17, 2000. Chairman Evans called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Pastor Dan Holden led in prayer and Chairman Evans led the Pledge of Allegiance.


Present were Janet K. Evans, Fred L. Oedekoven, Alan Weakly, Commissioners; Susan F. Saunders, County Clerk; Mike Fuller, County Attorney, and Bryn N. Stewart, Director of Administrative Services.


The Commissioners adjourned into an executive session at 9:10 AM for ongoing litigation and land acquisition, and reconvened into regular session at 9:30 AM.


Commissioner Weakly motioned to approve the purchase of a skid steer loader from Jack’s Heavy Equipment in the amount of $15,625, plus an additional $725 to fill the tires with foam. Commissioner Oedekoven seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

            All Voted - Aye                                                                      Carried.


A Public Hearing was held at 10:00 AM for the purpose of hearing a request from Harold Pond to rezone Lot 20, Concho Valley Subdivision from R-S, Residential Suburban, to R-2, One and Two Family Dwelling District.


Commissioner Oedekoven motioned to approve Case 00.21COZ to rezone Lot 20, Concho Valley from R-S, Residential Suburban to R-2, One and Two Family Dwelling District. Commissioner Weakly seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

            All Voted - Nay                                                                      Failed.


Commissioner Oedekoven motioned to approve the Garner Commercial Park Subdivision Final Plat. Commissioner Weakly seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

            All Voted - Aye                                                                      Carried.


Commissioner Oedekoven motioned to approve a grant for the Central Campbell County Improvement and Service District in the amount of $25,000 for a lower tank rehabilitation project, contingent upon the district securing the balance of funding to complete the project as presented. Commissioner Weakly seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

            All Voted - Aye                                                                      Carried.


Commissioner Weakly motioned to approve a grant application from the Stone Gate Improvement and Service District in the amount of $20,000 for a tank expansion project, contingent upon the district securing the balance of funding to complete the project as presented. Commissioner Oedekoven seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

            All Voted - Aye                                                                      Carried.

Commissioner Oedekoven motioned to approve the Proclamation declaring November 5-11 “National Animal Control Appreciation Week” in Campbell County. Commissioner Weakly seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

Commissioner Oedekoven motioned to approve the agreement for extended software services between Campbell County and Tiburon Justice Systems Inc. Commissioner Weakly seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

            All Voted - Aye                                                                      Carried.


Commissioner Oedekoven motioned to approve spending up to $1,300 from Commissioners Capital Contingency to replace the fax machine at Public Health. Commissioner Weakly seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

            All Voted - Aye                                                                      Carried.


Commissioner Oedekoven motioned to approve the agreement between Campbell County and Qwest Corporation as presented for an easement across a portion of county park land located in Green Valley Estates. Commissioner Weakly seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

            All Voted - Aye                                                                      Carried.


Commissioner Oedekoven motioned to approve the agreement granting the City of Gillette an easement for use, access to bury an electrical service line and maintain said electrical line across a portion of the Bell Nob Golf Course. Commissioner Weakly seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

            All Voted - Aye                                                                      Carried.


There being no further business to come before the Board of Commissioners the meeting was adjourned at 11:20 AM. The next regular scheduled meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2000 at 9:00 AM in the Commissioners Chambers in the courthouse.
