The Campbell County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Tuesday, February 5, 2002. Chairman Mader called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Pastor Mark Jervis led in prayer and Chairman Mader led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present were Janet K. Evans, Fred L. Oedekoven, Christopher Knapp, Alan Weakly, Craig G. Mader, Commissioners; Susan F. Saunders, County Clerk; James Schermetzler, Deputy County Attorney and Clint Beaver, Director of Administrative Services.

A Public Hearing was held at 9:45 AM for the purpose of hearing citizens views, comments and recommendations regarding the 2002 Abandoned Mine Land Grant application.
Commissioner Evans moved that the Board adopt the proposed resolution authorizing an application to the State Loan and Investment Board for an Abandoned Mine Lands Public Facility Grant in the amount of $1,295,000 for the Force Road Project. Commissioner Weakly seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

Commissioner Oedekoven moved that the Board approve payment of $4,212.75 to Delta Energy LLC for land services. Commissioner Weakly seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

Commissioner Weakly moved to give the County Attorney permission to hire additional services to continue research into Real Estate tax records for an amount not to exceed $40,000 for the rest of this Fiscal Year. Commissioner Evans seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

Commissioner Weakly moved for the funds to pay Delta Energy LLC, and for the land research to come from Commissioners Legal and then from Commissioners Contingency. Commissioner Knapp seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

The Commissioner recessed for lunch at 12:10 PM and reconvened into regular session at 1:30 PM.

The Commissioners recessed into an executive session for pending litigation at 2:50 PM and reconvened into regular session at 3:00 PM.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Commissioners, the meeting was adjourned at 3:00 PM. The next regular scheduled meeting of the Board of Commissioners will be Friday, February 15, 2002 at 9:00 AM in the Commissioner chambers of the courthouse.
