The Campbell County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Tuesday, January 7, 2003. Chairman Mader called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. Pastor Gordon Harper led in prayer and Chairman Mader led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present were Christopher Knapp, Alan Weakly, Roy Edwards, Marilyn Mackey, Craig G. Mader, Commissioners; Susan F. Saunders, County Clerk; Jeani Stone, County Attorney; Carol Seeger, Deputy County Attorney, and Clint Beaver, Chief of Staff.
Commissioner Weakly moved to appoint Craig G. Mader to serve as Chairman of the Board. Commissioner Knapp seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

Commissioner Knapp moved that the Board approve the Landowner's Petition to the City of Gillette to annex 11.55 acres of county-owned land, as presented. Commissioner Weakly seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

A Public Hearing was held at 10:00 AM for the purpose of hearing citizens views, comments and recommendations regarding the 2002 Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), funds from the Wyoming Business Council.
Commissioner Weakly moved that the Board agree to sponsor the People Project in its application for a Community Development Block Grant from the Wyoming Business Council, in the amount of $90,469, for the purpose of upgrading its building. Commissioner Knapp seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

The Commissioners went into an executive session for personnel issues at 10:55 AM and reconvened into regular session at 11:40 AM.
Commissioner Weakly moved to approve the Resolution appointing Stuart S. Healy III, Deputy County and Prosecuting Attorney of Sheridan County Attorney's Office as a special prosecutor for Campbell County. Commissioner Edwards seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

Commissioner Edwards moved to appoint Hugh Bennett to the Airport Board. Commissioner Weakly seconded the motion. The Board was polled:

The Commissioners recessed for lunch at 12:00 PM and reconvened into regular session at 1:35 PM.
Hearing Officer Randall T. Cox presided over a discussion of the Petitions to Establish a Private Road filed by Duane and Sonja Walter and the Bakers, et al.
The Commissioners recessed into an executive session for personnel issues at 2:05 PM and reconvened into regular session at 2:25 PM.
There being no further business to come before the Board of Commissioners the meeting was adjourned at 2:25 PM. The next regular meeting of the Board will be Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at 9:00 AM in the Commissioners chambers in the courthouse.
