The Campbell County Board of Commissioners met in regular session Tuesday, August 5, 2003. Chairman Mader called the meeting to order at 9:00 A.M. Pastor Gordon Harper led in prayer and Chairman Mader led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present were Chris Knapp, Alan Weakly, Marilyn Mackey, Craig Mader, Roy Edwards, Commissioners; Susan F. Saunders, County Clerk; Carol Seeger, Deputy County Attorney and Clint Beaver, Chief of Staff.

Commissioner Weakly moved to provide In Kind Contributions in the amount of $18,703 from the Road & Bridge Department for demolition, grading & gravel for the project cost of site improvements ancillary to the Council of Community Services Support and Training Center.

Commissioner Edwards moved to correct the minutes of July 1, 2003 as follows: Weed and Pest District estimated revenue should be changed to $104,800 instead of $1,104,800; and add the following sentence to the minutes: "Present were Chris Knapp, Alan Weakly, Marilyn Mackey, Craig Mader, Roy Edwards, Commissioners; Teresa Blackford, Deputy County Clerk; Jeani Stone, County Attorney: Carol Seeger, Deputy County Attorney and Clint Beaver, Chief of Staff." Commissioner Mackey seconded the motion.

Commissioner Edwards moved that the Board appoint Roy Seeman as Project Lead for the Homeland Security Assessment. Commissioner Knapp seconded the motion.

Commissioner Knapp moved that the Board approve the sole source purchases of: Seven (7) Davis Instruments Vantage-Pro Wireless Weather Stations, at a total cost of $5,670; and Ten (10) Kestral 4000 Handheld Weather Meters, at a total cost of $3,059.86, plus shipping and handling, with funds from the Pre-Disaster Mitigation grant and county match. At11:20 A.M. the Board went into Executive Session for potential litigation. The Board reconvened at1:30 P.M. into regular session.
Commissioner Mackey moved that the Board appoint Veronica Taylor to a three year term on the Planning Commission Board, ending June 30, 2006. Commissioner Weakly seconded the motion.

There being no further business to come before the Board of Commissioners the meeting was adjourned at 3:50 P.M. The next regular meeting of the Board will be Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at 9:00 A.M. in the Commissioners chambers in the courthouse.
