The Campbell County Employee Recognition Committee has been in existence for about five years now. Since that time, we have helped with the annual county picnic, planned and organized the annual Winter Gathering, and meet monthly to select the Employee of the Month. A sub-committee also meets with the Commissioners annually to select the Employee of the Year. We currently have nine members on our committee:

We encourage all nominations for any county employee, whether they work in your department or not. A paragraph or two explaining why they should be selected is the best type of nomination, simply because it gives us a better picture of the type of employee they are. Our main responsibility of selecting the Employee of the Month is always a challenge. Every agency within Campbell County Government is blessed with many, many outstanding employees, and the decision when selecting the monthly recipient has never been an easy one, whether there are six nominations or twenty. We don't want those people who have nominated someone who was not chosen to think that we thought their nominee was not deserving of this recognition because all of them are deserving. Unfortunately, we can only choose one, and it is a tough decision. That's why we have said if you nominate someone who is not selected, submit their name again. Just because they didn't receive the recognition before doesn't mean they won't later.
All in all, the experience of serving on this committee is a positive one. It is such a joy and an uplifting experience to see the nominations come in and see the great people we have working in and for our county. I strongly encourage anyone interested to put their name in when there is an opening on the Employee Recognition Committee.
