Early Childhood Coordinator
Class specifications are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed by

DEFINITION
To coordinate, implement and supervise an early childhood program in an inclusive preschool environment; collaborate with the Early Intervention and Early Head Start Coordinators;
ensure compliance with both Federal and State regulations under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, NAEYC and Wyoming DFS Regulations.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Exercise direct supervision over Early Childhood Instructors.
Receive general direction from Children's Developmental Services Executive Director.
EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Important and essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Plan, supervise, and implement the early childhood program/curriculum for the classrooms, in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the Children's Developmental Services
of Campbell County.
- Oversee the ordered arrangement, appearance, decor, and learning environment of the classroom.
- Participate in the selection of assigned staff, train, motivate and evaluate assigned personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct
deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures; assign tasks, projects and monitor assigned personnel.
- Ensure the smooth coordination of all classroom activities and staff/child relationships in conjunction with program requirements.
- Maintain an active system of parent program relationships.
- Consult with staff in preparation of materials for the daily lesson plans; approve daily lesson plans for the program.
- Schedule classroom staff to maintain child/staff ratios to meet quality standards.
- Assist the director in explaining the early childhood program to parents, visitors, and community organizations.
- Assist the staff in effective training of substitutes and follow through.
- Attend staff meetings, conferences, and professional organizations appropriate for Early Childhood/Early Intervention, and act as a representative of the program when
appropriate.
- Coordinate field trips and special events.
- Assist staff in the classroom with the daily planning and execution of all classroom and outdoor activities when covering child/staff ratio is necessary.
- Train teachers and paraprofessional staff, through teaching demonstrations and assisting staff with evaluation.
- Attend board meetings as requested and needed.
- Coordinate and communicate effective and efficient inclusionary practices.
- Assist the director in the preparation of the annual budget request for Board approval.
- Assist the director in referring suspected child abuse/neglect to the proper authorities and know the proper reporting requirements and procedures.
- Ensure department maintains certification and accreditation.
- Adhere to safe work practices and procedures.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and related activities; attend workshops, conferences, and classes to increase professional knowledge; serve on committees as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES:
Any combination equivalent to experience and
training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
Experience:
- Five to six years experience with progressively responsible experience in early childhood programs and supervision of professional staff.
Education/Training:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATES OR REGISTRATIONS:
Must be current or obtained within a specified time frame as defined upon employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Essential duties require the following:
Working Environment:
- Minimal exposure to undesirable working conditions or exposure including cold, heat, noise, working outdoors, chemicals and bodily fluids; exposure to typical playground
activities.
Physical Activities:
- Essential functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for minimal activity such as sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching/stooping/squatting/ and
lifting an average of 50 lbs.
