Marketing Manager

DEFINITION
To develop, maintain and implement a comprehensive marketing plan for Cam-Plex to attract local, regional and national events; attend national trade shows and work with regional and
national organizations to assist with local event organization; promote the use of Cam-Plex in every creative way possible so that the facility may be fully utilized.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Exercise direct supervision over Marketing Coordinator and assigned Administrative Assistant and volunteers.
Receive general direction from Cam-Plex General Manager.
EXAMPLES OF IMPORTANT AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Important and essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive local and national marketing strategy for Cam-Plex.
- Organize, prepare, and schedule special events and promotions, giveaways, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, receptions, lodging, and transportation.
- Work with management and staff to schedule special events and enhance the overall success of Cam-Plex.
- Establish a public speaking campaign to promote Cam-Plex.
- Develop and implement sponsorship programs to secure funding for special events.
- Direct the Marketing Coordinator in the development of radio, television, and print advertising.
- Attend out-of-town trade shows and conventions to promote Cam-Plex and attract events.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate local trade shows.
- Consult with, respond to, and resolve questions, concerns, problems and issues raised by county elected officials, Campbell County Land Board, employees, and the general public
as they relate to national and regional events.
- Contact national, regional and local businesses, organizations and associations for prospective meetings, conventions and event bids.
- Provide timely reports on marketing activities to the General Manager and Campbell County Public Land Board.
- Coordinate facility needs, available date and cost related requirements, and equipment usage; act as management liaison for national and regional events.
- Develop, implement and review all post-event evaluations for all conventions, meetings and special events generated through the Marketing Department.
- Select, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination
procedure. Assign tasks, project and monitor assigned personnel.
- Develop, administer, monitor and coordinate the marketing budget; assist in developing, administering, monitoring and coordinating the special events budget.
- Develop and review event planning guide.
- Direct local efforts to inform public of Cam-Plex benefits to the community.
- Develop and review Web page.
- Plan, develop, and facilitate volunteer program; recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for national events.
- Adhere to safe work practices and procedures.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, manager's meetings and related activities; attend workshops, conferences, and classes to increase professional knowledge; serve on
committees as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES:
Any combination equivalent to experience and
training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
Experience:
- Five to six years marketing in a multi-events facility.
Education/Training:
- Equivalent to a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing or related field.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATE OR REGISTRATIONS:
Must be current or obtained within a specified time frame as defined upon employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Essential duties require the following:
Working Environment:
- Minimal exposure to undesirable working conditions or exposure. Out of town travel. Work extended hours as necessary during events.
Physical Activities:
- Essential functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for minimal physical activity such as sitting, standing, and walking. Lifting an average of 20 lbs.
