Position Summary: Responsible for supervision, control and monitoring of inmates for the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility.

Minimum Requirements:
Experience: U.S. citizen; minimum 18 years of age; high school diploma or equivalent; corrected vision to 20/20; a valid state driver’s license; no felony or domestic violence convictions. Must meet standards on pre-employment exams: written exam, physical fitness test, oral board interview, background, polygraph, psychological assessment, and medical physical exam.

Testing Information: The initial testing process may take up to two days and consists of a Written Exam, Physical Fitness Test, Oral Board Interview and Pre-Background Interview.

In order to be eligible to test, you must complete and return a Campbell County Application for Employment.

Essential duties require the following:
Working Environment: Significant exposure to undesirable working conditions or exposure to cold, heat, noises, outdoors, vibration, confining work space; chemicals including explosive materials, biological, mechanical and electrical hazards, and may be exposed to Oleoresin Capsicum (OC); work with and around inmates (potential exposure to combative inmates); exposure to inmates of same gender or opposite gender in various stages of undress; ability to travel to different sites and locations; work while using a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA); work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays; availability for on-call and standby.
Physical Activities: Essential functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for significant physical activity such as standing, sitting, running, kneeling, crouching or crawling, stooping, squatting, twisting, climbing, and lifting; extended walking while physically checking all assigned/secured areas; must have physical strength to lift, restrain and/or move individuals; fire, control and qualify with a firearm; visual, auditory, and speech capabilities required.
