The Communications Division is responsible for dispatching deputies, fire and medical units to calls for service, and handling all 911 emergency calls. Dispatchers are highly trained law enforcement personnel who must respond immediately and appropriately to all calls for service. Making Emergency CallsAfter dialing 911, there may be a 5-6 second delay before it starts to ring. Power OutagesDO NOT call 911 to report that your power is out or to inquire how long the outage will last. No information will be released via 911 regarding power outages. You will be asked to call back on an non-emergency line. If you live in the county and are experiencing a power outage, please contact the power company directly to report the outage. When calling your power company, if you keep getting a busy signal, the outage has probably already been reported. If the outage will be for an extended period of time, tune in to your local radio station for updates.
