Campbell County Adult Drug CourtThe Campbell County Drug Court is a court-sponsored intensive supervised rehabilitation program that provides an alternative to traditional incarceration and sentencing of other courts. The program utilizes a residential facility, intensive supervised probation, electronic monitoring, regular drug and alcohol testing, and a comprehensive counseling component to address the underlying causes of alcohol and substance abuse. Positive behaviors are rewarded, while relapses are dealt with quickly and effectively through the court system. The program deals with all aspects of an offender’s life, including mental health, family and employment, with the hope of modifying an offender’s behavior and reducing recidivism of alcohol and substance abuse offenses. The program targets offenders who are interested in seeking treatment and who are committed to making positive changes in their lives, free of alcohol and controlled substances. The court supervises the offender’s participation and orders the offender to treatment and counseling, frequent and random drug testing, while requiring the offender to remain employed, do community service, and contribute to the cost of the program. The Drug Court concept emphasizes that treatment and sobriety are at the forefront of the program and often requires the offender to adjust his or her employment and family structure to allow for treatment.
