The Campbell County Attorney is an elected countywide position, which serves a four-year term. The office has 10 appointed deputy county attorneys who assist the county attorney.
Duties
The duties of the County Attorney’s Office include:
- Representation of the State of Wyoming in all criminal proceedings before the circuit, district, and juvenile court
- Initiating civil proceedings for neglect, delinquent children and children in need of supervision in the juvenile court
- Initiating involuntary commitment proceedings for mentally ill individuals
- Providing legal advise to all county entities regarding civil matters
- Overseeing the operation of the Crime Victim / Witness Office, Juvenile Diversion, Teen Intervention Program, and Early Age Intervention Program
- Active in the Adult Drug Court and Juvenile and Family Drug Court Programs
- Classifies sexual offenders
