Birth to Age 3

Two children interacting
The Infant Education / Family Service Program is designed for children in the age range of  birth to 3 with developmental delays, or being “at risk” for a developmental delay. These delays are determined through a developmental screening. If you have a concern about your child's growth and development, schedule a developmental screening.

Developing a Plan & Goals
An Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) is developed for each child involved in the program. The IFSP may include goals pertaining to development in the following skills:
  • Cognition
  • Fine motor
  • Gross motor
  • Language
  • Self-help skills
  • Social skills
Goals the family wishes to pursue may also be included in the IFSP.

Purpose of Services
Services provide educational experiences to the child within their naturally occurring environment. The primary purpose of the program is to teach parents to be the child's primary teacher, as well as to provide supportive family service coordination to the child and family. This is accomplished through weekly home visits where the Family Service Coordinator models activities and assists the parent in practicing the activities with their child. Written activity plans, data collection, lending of materials, and reassessment are done on a continuing basis.
