The Early Childhood component provides an educational preschool / childcare program for children of parents who are working, and children with special needs of which priority is given.
The Early Childhood Education/Child Care program provides services to children age 2 1/2 to school age, whose parents are employed. All children considered for enrollment must have a waiting list form completed. When there is an opening for a child, parents must complete all necessary enrollment procedures before a child will be accepted for care. Childcare waiting list form. Transportation to and from the center for child care is the responsibility of the parent.
Children’s Developmental Services uses Creative Curriculum to ensure a high quality experience for young children. Creative Curriculum is research based, follows developmentally appropriate practices and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) recommendations. A set of 38 goals and objectives guides the teacher's planning in providing opportunities for each child to actively explore and learn at their own developmental level.
The classroom consists of four teachers, an Early Childhood Instructor, an Early Intervention Instructor, and two Instructional Assistants. The teacher to child ratio follows NAEYC guidelines.
