The 2016 update to the Campbell County, City of Gillette, and Town of Wright's Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan has been sent to the State of Wyoming and FEMA for review and, hopefully, their approval. This plan was the result of hard work by the members of our local planning team, and we sincerely appreciate their efforts.
A copy of the plan is available. One caution, this is a 15 megabyte Adobe PDF File.
Using funds obtained by Senator Mike Enzi, a study was completed in January 2009 into the feasibility of solving the weather radar gap in northeast Wyoming. A copy of that study is available to download.
The decision by the powers that be at the National Weather Service in Washington D.C. was to not pursue the solutions suggested in the report, and no action is planned to resolve the lack of radar coverage.
