Crime Stoppers collects information to assist law enforcement in solving crime. It is based on the principle that some people have information that can solve a crime, but are reluctant to share it with police for various reasons. Crime Stoppers assists those people in sharing the information by providing anonymity and paying rewards.
The program has resulted in more than 300 arrests and the recovery of $356,433 worth of stolen property and controlled substances.
Partnership with the Community
Law enforcement partners with the community and the media to encourage citizens to come forward with information in reference to criminal activity. Citizens with information about a crime need not provide their name and personal information.
