Diversion Team

Erica Wood, Juvenile Diversion Officer 

Erica joined Diversion Team in August 2004. Erica is a native of Gillette and graduated from CCHS. She received a Masters of Art in social work and a degree in addictionology. Erica has previous experience with U.S. Attorney’s Office, Juvenile Detention Centers, Social Services in the medical field. She created and facilitated psycho-educational substance abuse groups, anger management, women’s issues, self-esteem groups. Her interests are in working with varying ages of at-risk youth and their families. In her spare time, she loves fishing, running, and anything to do with the outdoors.

Randy Monk, Juvenile Diversion Officer 

Randy is a retired police officer with the Gillette Police Department and was with the department from 1998 to 2008. In addition to his primary duties as a patrol officer, Randy also worked as a school resource officer at Twin Spruce Junior High, and later, at the C.C.H.S. South Campus. Randy was also a member of the Child Protection Team while he was assigned to the schools. Randy first joined the Diversion Team in August 2005, went back to patrol, and then rejoined diversion in February 2007.

A Wyoming native, Randy graduated from Jackson Hole High School. He served in the military and was honorably discharged from the Army. Randy received a Bachelor of Science Degree in administration of justice from the University of Wyoming.

Erin Gauthier, Juvenile Diversion Officer

Erin received a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology and healthy promotion from the University of Wyoming. Since then, she has gained several years experience in the education and promotion of wellness and behavior modification in people ages 5 to 85 years old. Her main interest lies in working with youth.

Prior to joining the diversion team in December 2008, Erin worked for the Campbell County School District in the Healthy Schools Department with at-risk youth. Erin has successfully taught after-school classes and summer programs that focused on mentoring and empowering youth to make healthy choices in their own lives.

Erin grew up in Gillette and values being close to her family. She likes playing sports and being active, enjoys pursuing her passion for photography, is an avid movie and music fan, and can often be found playing on her Nintendo Wii.

Ronald E. Wirthwein, Jr., County Attorney

County Attorney Wirthwein took office in January 2015. Ron graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Wyoming in 2001 and received his Juris Doctorate, with honors, from the University of Wyoming in 2006.
