The Atomic Bomb: The Inside Story
Tuesday, March 23, 2021
The Rockpile Museum is pleased to welcome Lucas Fralick for his presentation "The Atomic Bomb: The Inside Story" on March 21st at 7:00 p.m.
Most people associate the Atomic Bomb with the end of World War II in August 1945. The story of how the U.S. got to that point and how the decision was made to use the world’s first weapon of mass destruction is often looked over. This presentation will focus on the creation of the bomb, its use, and the aftermath. It is a story of scientific achievement, hope, victory, and devastation on a scale never before seen then or since.
Lucas Fralick holds an MA in history from UW where he specialized in the politics and policies of the Cold War. Fralick has been researching and writing about the Truman Administration for the past seven years and logged over 60 hours at the Truman Library in Missouri.
In person attendance is limited to 30 people, but the event will be streaming live on Facebook and our YouTube channel for those who can't attend.
