Wyoming WWII Prisoner of War Camps

Saturday, April 13, 2019

The Rockpile Museum is pleased to welcome author Cheryl O’Brien to present her research into the prisoner of war camps in Wyoming during World War II and the U.S. soldiers and prisoners who shared their stories about daily life at the camps. The program will be on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Campbell County Rockpile Museum. Cheryl O’Brien is a Dubois resident who enjoys conducting research and writing about Wyoming and local history topics. Her article on the Camp Dubois WWII prisoner of war camp was published in the Annals of Wyoming, the Wyoming State History Journal, in 2015. Cheryl earned a BA from the University of Wyoming with an emphasis in history and archaeology. She recently retired from the Dubois K-12 School. Cheryl is currently working on completing her research and book about the Wyoming WWII P.O.W. camps and prisoners. Cheryl plans to continue to document information about the P.O.W. camps and to share the information with others.
