The George Amos Library opened on Gillette Avenue in 1942, thanks to a $21,000 donation to Campbell County from Amos specifically for a library. When Campbell County Public Library
on 4J Road opened in 1983, George Amos became a branch library. In the early 1990s, it was closed because of budget constraints.
