What is a Social Summary?
A Social Summary is a report which is ordered in Juvenile Cases to help in getting to know the juvenile and his/her family. The Probation Officer will conduct interviews with both parents and the juvenile in order to gather information such as family history and medical/mental health issues. Also included in the Social Summary are law enforcement contacts, school records, and any Department of Family Services contacts. This report assists the Multi-Disciplinary Team to make appropriate recommendations for the juvenile.
