The Library Foundation Cupcake Wars

Saturday, April 13, 2019

The Library Foundation invites you to enjoy the 8th Annual Cupcake Wars! Fourteen bakers (the competition's capacity due to space limitations) are competing this year! The public and our guest judges will select winners in three divisions: experienced (3), amateur (6), and junior (18 and under) (5).

The 8th Annual Library Foundation Cupcake Wars is Saturday, April 13 from 1:30 to 3 pm at Campbell County Public Library (CCPL) and is the final event in CCPL’s “Libraries = Strong Communities” National Library Week celebration.

The public is invited to CCPL to taste test cupcakes baked by fourteen local bakers and enjoy music in the library atrium performed by The Gillette Guitar Guild. $5 at the door allows you taste cupcakes to your heart's content and vote for a favorite – favorite cupcake, favorite cupcake display. People's Choice and Judges Choice prizes totaling $650 will be awarded, thanks to The Library Foundation Inc. This year's judges are: Alissa Guernsey, Pizza Carrello Kitchen Manager; Dara Corkery, Library Foundation member; CCPL Board Members Amber Jackson-Jordan and Ivy McGowen-Castleberry; Kyle Ferris, past CCPL Board Member; Lilyin Jordan, Junior Judge; and THE PEOPLE!

This year's competition features three divisions: Experienced: a baker who sell baked goods to the public; Amateur: a great home baker who is comfortable in the kitchen; Junior: any baker under the age of 18.

The bakers:
Experienced: Shanda Hansen, Sabrina Maston, Gail Muller
Amateur: B.A.C.A. Campbell County Chapter, Shandra Hernandez, Shawna McDonald, Sandy Rokusek, Justine Schuff, Brandon Wooten
Junior: Camden and Chloey Glace, Sophia Hicks, Lea Hurrle, Lorena and Sienna Pina, Wyatt and Jemma Wilson

This event is one of a limited number of fundraising events sponsored by The Library Foundation Inc.
