The Roots Beneath Your Feet: The Homestead Act of 1862
Thursday, January 28, 2021
Campbell County, Wyoming experienced the peak of homesteaders to our region in the years 1921 and 1922. This year we look forward to celebrating these individuals and their collective efforts to make northeast Wyoming their home.
Join us online via YouTube & Facebook LIVE for this special Virtual Edition of Black & Yellow Theatre, as we will be joined by Homestead National Monument of America (NPS) Historian, Jonathan Fairchild for "The Roots Beneath Your Feet: The Homestead Act of 1862" as we explore the history and daily life of homesteaders.
This broadcast will also feature the U.S. Staley Archibald Homestead Cabin that was built in southern Campbell County in the winter of 1921/1922 and now is on exhibit at the Rockpile Museum.
