Author Bob Henry will present “Finding the Story," a seminar on genealogical research and some tips he used to research his forthcoming publications about the dry farmers at Rawhide Butte. There will be minimal duplication from the Friday night program.
In this program, Bob Henry will talk about the seven years of researching the story of the dry farmers “up around the butte" including: how he came from knowing almost nothing of the story to finding so many of its details, surprises found, and expected things not found; unanswered questions, how the story has changed in the telling and re-telling, practical advice on finding (and telling) a chapter of a family history, and “Finding Edith Varah”, the story of how the speaker stumbled into a personal connection to the dry farmers of Raw-hide Butte and the present day. The program will also include time for questions and discussion.
